Josh McCown: Everything fine after X-ray on finger

CLEVELAND -- Josh McCown said "everything is fine" after having the ring finger on his right hand X-rayed following the Cleveland Browns' 11-10 loss Thursday night to the Buffalo Bills.

The team said X-rays were negative.

McCown said he didn't know when he hit his finger, or what he hit it on.

"I just know it was sore," he said. "And so like I said, we just took some precautionary pictures of it to make sure it's all right.

"I don't want to speculate moving forward. Something could change overnight, but I feel like it'll be fine. So ... we'll see."

Clearly if there is an issue with the finger, Johnny Manziel would get more practice reps during the week.

But McCown's toughness should not be underestimated: He played the final eight games last season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a ligament torn off the bone of his thumb.
