BEREA, Ohio — The plastic Incredible Hulk stands poised in the locker of rookie running back Duke Johnson, right arm raised and left arm extended.
“Just a reminder to myself of what I can be,” Johnson said Wednesday.
This Hulk also wears a Browns wristband around his waist, the team name visible to all. Johnson, a rookie who left the University of Miami as its all-time leading rusher, matter-of-factly explains why Hulk inspires him: "The way he can do things and not be stopped regardless of who’s confronting him.”
The Incredible Hulk is a character from Marvel Comics, and the Marvel website says he is misunderstood, adding that “the angrier the Hulk gets, the stronger the Hulk gets.” The website also says, “Hulk possesses an incredible level of superhuman physical ability. His capacity for physical strength is potentially limitless. ”
Johnson said he was always “a Flash guy” when it came to superheroes, but he was converted to the Hulk after he met Phillip Dorsett, a former Miami teammate now with the Colts.
