BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Joe Haden's medical timetable might not be as concerning as it first sounded when the Cleveland Browns announced he had left ankle surgery.
Haden's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Monday afternoon that after talking to Robert Anderson, the doctor who did the surgery, the plan is for Haden to be back at the start of training camp.
If that's true, Haden then would be available for the start of the regular season.
The Browns had said they were not sure when Haden would be back and that he would not be able to resume football activities until training camp started.
At a breakfast meeting Monday morning, Browns director of football operations Sashi Brown was candid in saying the team also did not have all the information it needed.
"We're looking forward to him getting back," Brown said. "I know Joe will put the work in. We'll obviously be in good communication with him throughout."
Rosenhaus very firmly said Haden would be ready for training camp.
Haden had the surgery Wednesday. It was done by Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist in Charlotte, N.C.
