Ex-Bonnies guard teams with Snoop Dogg

What happens when you mix a former St. Bonaventure guard, rappers Snoop Dogg and Warren G, a British triple-jump star and adidas marketing? Apparently, a British basketball ad. And a rather strange one at that:

Former Bonnies guard Ogo Adegboye, who finished his career at St. Bonaventure in 2011, is one of the rising stars of the British men's national team, which is gearing up for the London 2012 Olympics. Team GB -- what the Brits apparently call their fledgling men's hoops program -- called up Adegboye last summer, when he earned a starting spot and helped GB qualify for this summer's Eurobasket Championships in Lithuania. It's probably not a great sign for your nation's hoops talent that one of your featured players is a solid but unspectacular role player for a team that finished 16-15 in the Atlantic 10. But, hey, England could say the same thing about our soccer team. I won't throw stones.

What does any of that have to do with Snoop Dogg and Warren G? Don't ask me. But you have to admit, it's pretty entertaining to watch Snoop run a game, albeit one set up solely for the purposes of an extended ad. (Snoop really loves to call people "nephew." Tremendous all-purpose nickname, that.) And the triple-jump alley-oop thing is kind of cool.

Still, if I may, I think the main takeaway here is that America's so good at basketball that our rappers and All-Star Celebrity Game alumni are better than Britain's actual Olympic basketball players. Forget the debt crisis! We're No. 1!
