Last week, when the Edmonton Oilers were going through San Jose, Team North America general manager Peter Chiarelli used the time to gather everyone involved in the construction of what could be the most intriguing team ever assembled for an international competition.
Chiarelli and Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman are heading up the assembly of the Team North America roster with assistance from Nashville Predators assistant GM Paul Fenton, the New York Rangers' Adam Graves, Tampa Bay Lightning assistant GM Pat Verbeek and Hockey Canada’s Ryan Jankowski. With coaches Todd McLellan, Jay Woodcroft and Pete DeBoer already in town, that made it easy to meet, especially after they’d already received input from Dave Tippett and Jon Cooper.
Chiarelli, as he has throughout the season, asked everyone to come prepared with projected 23-man rosters that also included potential lines.
