Tony Romo's road success has Cowboys feeling confident

IRVING, Texas -- Maybe you have heard that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown 38 touchdown passes and no interceptions in his last 16 games at Lambeau Field.

What you may not have heard about as much is the success of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo on the road.

In leading the Cowboys to an NFL-best 8-0 road record this season, Romo has thrown 20 touchdown passes and two interceptions. He has completed 70.6 percent of his passes and thrown for more yards away from home (1,933) than at AT&T Stadium.

In his last five games away from home, Romo has 15 touchdown passes and just one interception.

He went 183 passes between interceptions on the road -- a pick-six by St. Louis cornerback Janoris Jenkins in Week 3 to an interception by Jackson Jeffcoat in the fourth quarter of Dallas' Week 17 win at the Washington Redskins.

"I don't think anything that happened before this is necessarily going to help you when you're on the field on Sunday," Romo said. "What matters is if you do the things that you've done before, but you've got to still go do it. We feel confident whenever we step on the football field, whether it's at home or on the road, that we're going to give ourselves a chance to win the football game. I think we're not going to feel any different going into this game.

"We understand that we have a great team that we're going against who is going to be a great test, and you can't give them anything easy. You've got to make it hard on them. This game is going to go all the way to the end. Things like that you figure are going to happen, and you just have to play one of your better games, and we understand that."

There's also this nugget: Romo is the only Cowboys quarterback to win at Lambeau Field. He beat the Packers 27-16 on Sept. 21, 2008, completing 17 of 30 passes for 260 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

When the Cowboys returned to Lambeau on Nov. 15, 2009, they lost 17-7. Romo completed 24 of 39 passes for 251 yards and one touchdown and an interception.
