IRVING, Texas -- For the second time this season the Dallas Cowboys will have first-year referee Brad Allen calling a game when his crew works Sunday’s matchup against the Packers.
Allen worked the Cowboys’ overtime loss to the Saints in Week 4. The Cowboys were penalized six times for 30 yards and the Saints were flagged eight times for 64 yards. Allen’s crew called four penalties for defensive holding, three for illegal use of hands, one for pass interference and one for illegal contact, so the defensive backs will have to be on their toes.
Allen worked the Panthers-Saints game Sunday and 19 penalties were called. The Panthers were penalized eight times for 87 yards while the Saints had 11 penalties for 104 yards.
