Oklahoma State and Kansas had a little bit of everything -- a rain delay, a quarterback change, a back-breaking penalty -- but the Cowboys survived, 20-14, on a rainy, stormy afternoon in Lawrence.

The Cowboys led 20-0 in the fourth quarter after a 42-yard Quinn Sharp field goal, but Michael Cummings stepped in for Dayne Crist (10-of-22, 136 yards) and led a pair of touchdown drives, capping one with a 21-yard strike to Jimmay Mundine.

KU needed only two plays to score from 73 yards out on the next drive. James Sims broke a 28-yard run and the Cowboys added 15 yards on the end with a personal foul penalty. Sims broke free for a 30-yard score on the next play to bring the Jayhawks to within 20-14.

Have to think this will ignite a quarterback debate in Lawrence over the next week. Cummings finished 5-of-10 for 75 yards and a score and clearly sparked the offense.

Did Oklahoma State think it was over? Regardless of what the Cowboys thought, it sure looks like that was the case. The game suffered a delay because of weather late in the first quarter, but a subdued atmosphere provided the stage for a near sneak-attack from the Jayhawks, who lost to Kansas State by 40 a week ago.

KU had one final shot late after forcing a three-and-out, but a questionable roughing the punter penalty in the final minutes sealed the game for Oklahoma State.

It was sloppy, no doubt, but Kansas has to be encouraged by Saturday's result. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State sounds about ready to get Wes Lunt back as soon as possible. Lunt made the trip and dressed for Saturday's game, but didn't play after injuring his knee earlier this season against Louisiana. J.W. Walsh completed 18 of 30 passes for 255 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

What happened to Joseph Randle, too? KU entered the game giving up 5.58 yards a carry, good for 117th in the FBS. Oklahoma State's offense averaged nearly 7.0 yards a carry, No. 1 in the FBS. Today, Randle carried 29 times for 81 yards, fewer than 3.0 yards a carry. That's got to be a bit troubling.

Lackluster all around from the Cowboys, who didn't break a scoreless tie until the 7:34 mark of the second quarter.

Still, OSU moved to 3-2 and host Iowa State next week.
