Bryan McCann, Travis Bright released

The Saturday afternoon cuts are coming in, and cornerback Bryan McCann and guard Travis Bright were let go by the Cowboys.

McCann, from SMU, was told the team might bring him back to the practice squad, but his agent, John Biggins, said he's hopeful another team can sign him to an active roster.

McCann tied for second with 13 tackles and he led the Cowboys in punt return average at 10.8. He also averaged 24 yards a kick return.

Bright -- 6-6, 322 pounds and from BYU -- was signed as undrafted free agent after the 2009 draft. He was cut at the end of training camp and spent the entire season on the practice squad. The Cowboys told his agent, Michael Hoffman, they would like for him to remain on the practice squad for 2010.
