IRVING, Texas – Cornerback Orlando Scandrick reported “very little pain” after two days of working on resistance cords, but the odds of him playing Sunday are slim.
Scandrick, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the season opener, still has not run or cut full speed. He said he has some soreness and stiffness in his ankle, but he’s encouraged by the lack of pain.
“I feel good,” Scandrick said. “I feel like I’m doing everything to get back out there.”
However, Scandrick’s return will likely come after the Cowboys’ Week 5 bye instead of Sunday afternoon against the Lions. The Cowboys’ medical staff will make the decision, but it doesn’t make sense to rush him back if the ankle hasn’t completely recovered.
“It’s not going to do any good to get me back out there for one week and then miss another four or five weeks,” Scandrick said.
