Dan Connor's deal worth $6.5 million

IRVING, Texas -- Dan Connor’s two-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys totals $6.5 million and includes a $2.7 million signing bonus.

The Cowboys drafted Bruce Carter in the second round last year as a possible starter in 2012 knowing he needed time to recover in 2011 from major knee surgery while at North Carolina. Carter played in 10 games last season, mostly on special teams

Carter is set to count $1.103 million against the salary cap in 2012.

Connor’s base salaries will be $800,000 and $3 million in 2012-13.
