Jason Garrett: Jerry Jones can do whatever he wants

OXNARD, Calif. -- How does ultraconservative Jason Garrett feel about Jerry Jones inviting fans to watch the Cowboys deliver an ass-kicking to the defending Super Bowl champions?

"Jerry Jones owns this football team," Garrett said. "He has owned it for 23 years, so he can do anything he wants."

The players didn't seem to mind hearing that kind of bravado from their boss.

"That's what he said? I like it," cornerback Brandon Carr said. "I'm right with him. I feel the same way. I mean, you've got to go into each game feeling like you're going to dominate the opposing team."

Just don't expect to ever hear anything like Jones' headline-making comment from the mouth of the Cowboys' head coach.

"We don’t make any guarantees around here," Garrett said. "We’re going to work hard every day to put a great football team together. We’re in the process of doing that."
