Alex Albright was everywhere

SAN FRANCISCO – If it seemed like Alex Albright was everywhere in Monday’s 3-0 win against Oakland, you might be right.

Albright was credited with a game-high nine tackles, playing outside and inside linebacker, and was also able to make at least one special teams tackle.

But it wasn’t as if he was too happy with how he played.

“Different reads at middle linebacker, even my footwork, crossing over my steps” Albright said. “(Linebackers coach) Matt Eberflus always says don’t do that and the first thing I thought was, ‘Dang, I just crossed over.'”

The Cowboys started using Albright at inside linebacker as a way to build depth.

“Actually I felt a lot more comfortable doing it (in the game) than I have in practice,” Albright said. “The guys you’re around week after week in practice, like Orie Lemon, we’ve become more comfortable playing next to each other, echoing the calls so when one person misses it the other person’s on it.”

Albright did not see any tight end snaps after getting a handful in practice last week.

“Their play calls sound like Spanish to me, so I’m just trying to learn that,” Albright said. “Whatever they give me, I’m ready.”
