TE Colin Cochart won't travel to New York

Tight end Colin Cochart, who the Cowboys claimed off waivers over the weekend, will not make the trip with the team to New Jersey.

That means that the Cowboys will have only two active tight ends if Jason Witten is unable to play. Witten (lacerated spleen) is officially listed as doubtful, but he is scheduled to undergo a CT scan Tuesday in hopes of being cleared to play in Wednesday's season opener against the New York Giants.

If Witten can't play, John Phillips will start with rookie sixth-round pick James Hanna serving as the team's second tight end.

Practice squad running back Lance Dunbar, a candidate to return kicks, is on the flight to New Jersey. No roster move has been announced.
