Kyle Orton looking forward to seeing friends

IRVING, Texas -- Kyle Orton was with the Chicago Bears for four years and was traded to Denver for Jay Cutler as the teams swapped quarterbacks.

Orton went 21-12 as a starter in Chicago, taking the Bears to the playoffs in 2005 with a 10-5 record as a starter.

Now in his first year as Tony Romo’s backup with the Cowboys, Orton gets to see his former team for the second time. He threw one pass as a backup for Kansas City last season two weeks after he was claimed by the Chiefs off waivers from Denver.

“Anytime you play a bunch of friends it means something,” Orton said. “That was a fun four years for my career. They’ve got a great team, great players and Lovie (Smith) is leader of the ship. He’s a great coach.”
