Cowboys lose three defensive players to injuries

OXNARD, Calif. -- The medical tent positioned between the two practices fields here had full occupancy on Sunday.

Defensive tackle Sean Lissemore (groin), linebacker Ernie Sims (groin) and safety Eric Frampton (hamstring) were nicked up during the individual drills of practice. They are listed as day-to-day.

"That's not good at all," defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin said of the three injured players.

Safety J.J. Wilcox missed practice because of a serious family matter and returned to his hometown of Cairo, Ga.

Kiffin said he's not sure when Wilcox will return but the team will give him as much time as necessary to deal with the situation.

Also, Cole Beasley (foot), Kevin Kowalski (knee), Ryan Cook (back), Ray Dominguez (shoulder), Nate Livings (knee), Darrion Weems (undetermined), Morris Claiborne (knee), Matt Johnson (foot), Alex Albright (back), Jay Ratliff (hamstring) and Anthony Spencer (knee) missed practice.

The Cowboys list Claiborne and Albright as day-to-day and Beasley is using a walking boot.
