IRVING, Texas – Cowboys cornerback Micah Pellerin was fined $15,750 for an unnecessary roughness penalty in last week’s game against Arizona.
Pellerin was flagged for hitting Cardinals wide receiver Charles Hawkins in the head on a fourth-quarter punt return.
If Pellerin does not make the Cowboys’ final roster, however, he will not owe the NFL the money. If he signs with another team, the fine would have to be paid. If Pellerin makes the Cowboys’ active roster, which is a big question, he would make $405,000 this season.
Players are not paid their salaries until the season starts. Pellerin has made $925 per week in training camp.
Rookie linebacker DeVonte Holloman was not fined for his hit on Miami quarterback Pat Devlin in the Hall of Fame Game.
