Hatcher confident he'll be '100 percent' vs. Giants

IRVING, Texas – Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher isn’t concerned about a sore groin that sidelined him for Monday’s practice.

“I’m very confident I’ll be ready 100 percent when New York comes,” Hatcher said, referring to the Sept. 8 season opener.

The Cowboys will be cautious with Hatcher, who said he started feeling soreness in his groin early in Saturday’s game but continued playing. He emphasized that it’s just soreness – no “pop” – and said he would be able to play if the Cowboys had a regular-season game in a couple of days.

However, Hatcher won’t rush his return to practice. He wants to make sure that his groin doesn’t become a nagging issue.

“I’m feeling good, man,” Hatcher said. “Just being smart about it. Get ready for New York. Take a few days off and let it calm down a little bit.”
