Cowboys gear for Lions' four-man front

IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys have faced a variety of defensive fronts this season.

Against three-man fronts, the Cowboys are 2-2, with victories in their last two games against Washington and Philadelphia.

On Sunday, the Cowboys face the Detroit Lions and their four-man fronts. The last time the Cowboys faced such an alignment was in Week 5 against Denver, a 51-48 loss.

The Cowboys' offense has received good looks in practice from the scout team defense this season. The Cowboys moved from a three-man front defense to a four-man front defense, so they're quite familiar with working against both types of fronts in practices.

"When you play a three-man line, you saw a three-man line every day, and you supposedly have a comfort level with that and vice versa," coach Jason Garrett said. "What you try to do is, you expose them to different looks throughout training camp, at different times based on upcoming opponents. And you certainly do that within the week when you’re going to play an opponent, so hopefully there’s a comfort level there that develops by the time you kick the ball off."
