Practice report: Cowboys getting healthy

IRVING, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys battled through injuries through most of training camp, but they are getting healthier as the regular season approaches.

The only players not taking part in Thursday’s practice are defensive end Anthony Spencer and offensive tackle Darrion Weems, each of whom will not play in Sunday’s opener against the San Francisco 49ers.

Tony Romo was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice and coach Jason Garrett said the quarterback was feeling good Thursday.

Defensive end George Selvie and defensive tackle Terrell McClain were limited in Wednesday’s practice and were on the field again Thursday. Selvie hurt his shoulder on Aug. 23 against the Miami Dolphins. McClain missed the preseason with a high ankle sprain.

“They got some work in and they’re both pointing to try to play in this game on Sunday,” Garrett said. “We’ll see what they’re able to do today and we’ll make our decision as the week goes on.”
