Coppell's Okotcha lands at OU after 2 switches

Coppell defensive back Bennett Okotcha passed up a chance to play at Notre Dame with teammate Cam McDaniel when he switched his commitment to Oklahoma late in the process.

Okotcha made the defection official on Wednesday by signing his letter of intent to the Sooners.

It was the second time Okotcha had changed his mind during the recruiting process. He committed to Wisconsin before the 2010 season began and switched to Notre Dame in November.

Okotcha and McDaniel highlight a class that led Coppell to one of its most successful seasons in school history. The Cowboys didn't lose a game until their heartbreaking 40-39 playoff loss to Euless Trinity in what may have been the best high school game of the year.

McDaniel rushed for 1,906 yards and 32 touchdowns in 2010. He also caught 40 passes for 492 yards and three touchdowns. He projects as a slot receiver at Notre Dame.

Defensive end Tanner Rice signed with Air Force. Offensive lineman Oni Omoile signed with Iowa State.

Quarterback Joe Minden, a late riser in the recruiting process who had his best games in the playoffs, signed with Stephen F. Austin.
