As expected, Von Wafer signed a 10-day contract with the Mavs this morning.
Wafer, a five-year NBA veteran who averaged 9.7 points for the Houston Rockets last season, will be available for tonight's game agaisnt the Los Angeles Lakers. However, don't expect for him to get into the game unless it's garbage time.
The Mavs signed Wafer primarily because they need practice players. They had only nine available for Tuesday's practice.
That doesn't mean Wafer won't be able to work his way into the Mavs' future plans. But the Mavs certainly aren't counting on him to crack the rotation this season.
