Cuban's cash gives Mavs 1st-round gift

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle sound pretty peppy after owner Mark Cuban plunked down $3 million to purchase the 25th overall draft pick from the Memphis Grizzlies. The prize was South Florida shooting guard Dominique Jones, the Big East's second-leading scorer.

"One of the advantages of being in Dallas and having Mark Cuban as your owner because in years when you don't have first-round picks you have the resources and wherewithal to get into the first round to get younger, to get some assets for the future. We obviously feel he's a guy that can help us some next year."
