Caron Butler: 'See how it feels tonight'

DALLAS -- Caron Butler went through Monday morning's shootaround, but the Dallas Mavericks' small forward wasn't quite ready to rule himself in for tonight's home game against the undefeated New Orleans Hornets.

Butler has missed the last two games with back spasms after the injury forced him out of the Boston game a week ago.

"Just a little tightness. I want to be 100 percent before I step out there so I don't have the same problem again," Butler said. "I've got time. There's no rush, but obviously you want to be out there competing and particularly in a game like this, an undefeated team coming into your house, you want to be out there."

Shawn Marion would start again if Butler sits out a third game. Marion has scored 20 and 16 points, respectively, as a starter in the last two games on 18-of-26 shooting. The Mavs are 2-0 in the games Butler has missed.
