Dominique Jones to join Mavs in Cleveland

Rookie Dominique Jones is en route from Frisco to Cleveland to join the Mavericks for tonight's game against the Cavaliers.

The Mavs need as many capable, healthy bodies as possible with the recent rash of injuries. Caron Butler is expected to miss an extended period of time after suffering a knee injury that the Mavericks fear is at least a partially torn patella tendon. Dirk Nowitzki isn't likely to return from his sprained knee until next week. Shawn Marion's status against the Cavaliers is uncertain due to a thigh contusion.

Jones has played most of the season for the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' D-League affiliate. Jones, whom the Mavs drafted 25th overall after paying $3 million to acquire the first-round pick, averaged 18.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 10 D-League games.
