Dirk Nowitzki laughs off 'cold-blooded' move by C.J. McCollum

PORTLAND, Ore. -- This is not the kind of 360 that any NBA player wants on a highlight reel. Of course, it's the only kind Dallas Mavericks' star Dirk Nowitzki is capable of, especially at the ripe old age of 37.

All Nowitzki could do was smile after getting put in the spin cycle by Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum. Caught in a mismatch, the 7-foot future Hall of Famer was turned all the way around when he bit on McCollum's threat to drive and had no chance of challenging the shot on a stepback jumper.

"Oh, man, I was praying he was going to miss it," Nowitzki said, laughing. He scored 28 points in the Mavs' 115-112 overtime win. "And I turned around and he made it. I told him at halftime it was cold-blooded to go at the old man like that.

"Yeah, it's on ESPN. Tough."
