Rapids an intriguing foe for Schellas Hyndman, FCD

When FC Dallas starts their next tough stretch of three games in six days by hosting 2010 MLS Cup champion Colorado on Sunday night at FC Dallas Stadium. Of course, the Rapids are coached by ex-FCD player and assistant coach Oscar Pareja.

Here’s Schellas Hyndman on several Colorado-related subjects after a short recovery session on Monday morning.

On facing Oscar Pareja for the first time

Hyndman: It’ll be good. I know it’ll be a real emotional game for him and I know his players will play their hearts out for him. I think we’re steadily improving. It helps getting people healthy. It helps getting Jackson there. So I think we’re going to continue to find ways of getting those three points.

On how the Rapids already have three clean sheets this season

Hyndman: I think they’ve got a solid defense. I think their back four is good. I think they’re playing with two holding midfielders now. I think they’ve got a real good defensive structure, good goalkeeping and Omar [Cummings] has been very effective up front, so I think it’s just going to take a little time to all get on the same page with what Oscar [Pareja] wants.

On what Kamani Hill has meant to them so far

Hyndman: A good player, I think he’s a player that kind of fits into what Oscar’s looking for-a technical player. He scored this weekend. The ball kind of popped up for him but he did put it away.
