About the Stars

The Stars (16-11-1) won 2-1 at Los Angeles Saturday tonight. Goaltender Richard Bachman stopped 26 of 27 shots to win in his first NHL start.

“It was exciting. When the final buzzer goes off, you can breathe a sigh of relief, especially in a tight game like that,” Bachman said. “It’s exciting, it’s fun. You always dream of getting that first win, and it was a dream come true tonight.”

Bachman will get the start Tuesday night against the Rangers.

The Stars, who are 1-1-0 on their current road trip, have won three of their last five games (3-2-0).

Injuries: D Mark Fistric (suspension), RW Adam Burish (broken hand) and G Kari Lehtonen (groin) are out.

About the Rangers

The Rangers (17-6-4) routed the Florida Panthers 6-1 at Madison Square Garden Sunday. The Rangers won for the seventh time in their last nine games (7-1-1).

"I think we raised the bar this year," Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist said. "We're not satisfied playing OK and getting a point here and there. So many players in the room now are challenging each other to be better and we have four pretty good lines out there. It's a great feeling and I'm happy to see the way we're playing and the way we push ourselves through the ups and downs."

Since starting the season 3-3-3, the Rangers are 14-3-1 over their last 18 games.

Injuries: D Marc Staal (concussion), LW Wojtek Wolski (sports hernia), C Mike Rupp (knee) and D Kurt Sauer (concussion) are out.
