The Stars have locked up the first of their restricted free agents, signing center Aaron Gagnon to a one-year, two-way contract.
Gagnon had a breakout season with the Texas Stars in AHL last season, leading the Texas Stars with 58 points (27 goals, 31 assists) in 78 games. He also had 8 goals and 4 assists in 24 games during Texas' run to the Calder Cup Finals.
The 24-year-old also made his NHL debut, registering no points in two games for Dallas in 2009-10.
Gagnon's new contract will pay him $600,000 if he plays in the NHL and $85,000 if he plays in the AHL.
