Brenden Morrow ready for opener

Stars captain Brenden Morrow, who has been dealing with a sore back, was back on the ice in Frisco today and will be ready for Friday's season opener in New Jersey. Tom Wandell, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury, looks like he'll be ready to go as well.

"Healthwise, we're there," said Stars coach Marc Crawford. "Tommy Wandell is looking like he'll be an option for us. Brenden practiced full out for us today and he got better as the day went along. We suspected they would both be ready by Friday and it looks like they will be."

Morrow had missed the team's last four practices.

"I feel good," Morrow said after coming off the ice Thursday. "I am ready to get that first game."

Wandell was injured in an intrasquad game on September 19 and missed all the Stars' preseason games. He did play one AHL exhibition game with the Texas Stars.

"It's good, 100 percent," Wandell said.

Here was the practice lineup for Thursday.
