Rangers release spring training schedule

The Rangers released their 33-game 2011 spring training schedule Wednesday, which includes 31 Cactus League games.

The Rangers will play 16 games at their spring home in Surprise, Ariz., including their Cactus League opener Feb. 27 against the Kansas City Royals.

After completing their Cactus League schedule, the Rangers will wrap up their spring at the home parks of their two new minor league affiliates. They will face Coastal Carolina University at BB&T Coastal Field, home of the Class A Myrtle Beach Pelicans, on March 29. The spring finale will be March 30 against the Triple-A Round Rock Express at Dell Diamond.

The regular season starts for the defending American League champs April 1 against the Boston Red Sox at Rangers Ballpark.
