The 2010 AL MVP said he resumed baseball activities Wednesday and was swinging in the batting cages before talking to media Friday.
Hamilton, who has exchanged arbitration figures with the Rangers, said he is bracing himself for a hearing set for Feb. 14.
"But there's a few weeks between now and then, so we'll see what happens," he said.
The Rangers have not been to an arbitration hearing since 2000. The two sides were just a little over $3 million apart on their offers and have until the hearing date to work something out on a one-year deal.
