SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers catcher Mike Napoli said his left ankle felt good after getting behind the plate for three innings of Thursday's intrasquad game on Nolan Ryan Field at Surprise Recreation Campus.
"I was able to catch three innings and it felt fine," Napoli said. "It feels good. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. I haven't run or done any sliding, but I've done some blocking drills."
Napoli, who severely sprained the ankle in Game 6 of the World Series and has gone through treatment for it most of the offseason, isn't sure if he'll catch in the intrasquad game Friday. But he's participated in all drills and the only things he hasn't done on the ankle is run at top speed or slide.
Napoli threw out David Murphy trying to steal to second with a nice throw.
Other reaction from today's intrasquad game:
* Scott Feldman needed just 10 pitches to get through his first inning of work. He said he threw all of his pitches -- which include a cutter, sinker, curve and changeup -- and retired all three batters he faced on ground balls. That included Ian Kinsler, Elvis Andrus and Josh Hamilton.
"Ground balls are good," Feldman said. "The hitters aren't in midseason form, so I'm trying to get ground ball and spot my pitches."

* Colby Lewis also got through his only inning without any problems. He needed 13 pitches and struck out Julio Borbon.
"I felt good about my fastball command," Lewis said. "It was just one inning, so you're trying to command that No. 1 pitch, which for most guys is the fastball."
* A few pitchers struggled, including Mark Lowe (a walk and hit-by-pitch), Sean Green and Fabio Castillo. But the idea was to get in work and see how the command looked still early in spring.
* Tommy Mendonca hit a home run to straightaway center and had a double off the wall.
* Jurickson Profar made a couple of nice plays. He had a nice relay throw home, had a solid single to center and showed great range on a ball hit into the hole. Profar had quick feet to get his body set and get to it, then turn and with a quick release, get the ball to second.
* Borbon and Leonys Martin played the whole game, going back and forth between DH and the outfield. Martin had a nice single late in the game and Borbon had a couple of hits. Martin had a stolen base.
* Michael Kirkman pitched fine but didn't face a left-handed batter. LHP Mitch Stetter did, getting Engel Beltre to ground out to first base on a nice play by Mitch Moreland, who quickly reacted to the ball down the line.
* Josh Hamilton hit a first-pitch double off Green to center field and never hestitated even when Borbon got to the ball in the gap. He slid into second easily.
* SS Luis Hernandez, a candidate for the utility job, impressed the manager with his play on a tough, hard-hit ball by Elvis Andrus. Hernandez gloved it and made an accurate throw to first to get Andrus.
* INF Yangervis Solarte had a single to center that scored a run and was swinging the bat well.
* The Rangers will have another intrasquad game Friday at noon on the back fields. That one will feature an inning of work from Yu Darvish.
