SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers pitching coach Mike Maddux said that after two straight days of what he called "heavy long toss," Brandon Webb will get a light day on Wednesday followed by two days of heavy long toss and then another light day.
After that, the club will decide whether Webb gets back on a mound. So the earliest that could happen (and again, that's if they decide he's ready) is Sunday.
Webb threw from 200 to 205 feet on Tuesday and he and Maddux were both pleased with how he did. Webb continues to build up the arm strength and the club doesn't want to take any chances with him.
Maddux said he wants to see how Webb feels tomorrow and then how he feels after another couple of days of long tossing to help determine how the arm strength is progressing.
