It appeared that Romo experienced discomfort in his back as he sat on the bench the remainder of Thursday’s preseason loss. However, he dismissed a question about whether he tweaked his back.
“No, I’m fine,” Romo said.
The offense, on the other hand, needs some work.
The Cowboys haven’t scored an offensive touchdown in their two preseason games. They have a pair of field goals in Romo’s three possessions, but those scoring drives stalled once they reached the red zone.
“We have a lot of work to do,” said Romo, who completed four of seven passes for 52 yards against the Raiders. “This team isn’t where we need to be yet. We’ve made some strides. We’ve done some good things, but we’ve got a lot of work and time left to continue to get better. That’s actually exciting from my perspective.”
