Rangers stay in contact with Greene

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine said the club has kept up contact with Khalil Greene and his agent. Greene did not report to camp because of social anxiety disorder and the club voided his contract.

Levine said general manager Jon Daniels talked to Greene personally and told him that the club wanted to help him in any way they could.

"There were no overtures about coming back and playing," Levine said. "He didn't see playing baseball as an immediate focus or priority for him. He's taking care of the other things in his life and we support that."
