New Zealand’s Joseph Parker, boxing’s best heavyweight prospect this side of England’s Anthony Joshua, will fight Bowie Tupou in a scheduled 12-round fight on Saturday, and American fans can watch the fight live.
ESPN3.com will have streaming coverage of the card from New Zealand beginning at 5:50 a.m. ET.
If that’s a bit too early for your liking -- and I am sure it is -- the card will be on ESPN3 on Demand beginning Saturday afternoon.
ESPN3 also streamed the 23-year-old Parker’s last fight, a second-round knockout of Yakup Saglam on June 13.
Parker (14-0, 12 KOs), who is 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, has been lauded by heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko for the fine work he gave him as a sparring partner in a recent training camp.
If Parker wins on Saturday he is due back in action on Oct. 15 in a fight that could also land on ESPN3.
Tupou (25-3, 17 KOs), 32, born in Tonga and based in Australia, has won three fights in a row since being stopped in the fifth round by contender Bryant Jennings in 2012.
The stream will open with a welterweight fight between prospect Jeff Horn (10-0-1, 8 KOs), 27, a 2012 Australian Olympian, and Viktor Plotnykov (32-2, 15 KOs), 37, of Ukraine, who has won four bouts in a row.
