New Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn gave some indications Wednesday about how his front office is going to be structured.
In speaking with reporters at the Senior Bowl in Alabama, Quinn said his newly-hired lieutenant, Kyle O’Brien, will run the player personnel department and that there will be separate college and pro personnel directors.

Lance Newmark, who was promoted to Director of College Scouting last year, will remain with the club in his current role. Sheldon White, who was Detroit’s interim general manager after the team fired Martin Mayhew in November, is still the Vice President of Pro Personnel.
While Quinn appears to be hanging on to those two executives, he has made other changes. He fired Vice President of Football Operations Cedric Saunders on Friday and longtime scout Scott McEwen earlier this month. He also let go of the top two members of the strength and conditioning staff.
Besides hiring O’Brien, he also brought in former New England scouting assistant Ron Miles to be a scout.
