Lions have new weight room installed at practice facility

Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn switched up the franchise's strength-and-conditioning staff soon after taking the job in January.

Now there is a revamped weight room as well. Sorinex Equipment posted photos of the new Lions weight room, something the company installed recently.

The Lions' weight room is something not often seen by the public or reporters in the facility. Detroit's weight room sits just off the outdoor practice fields at the team's headquarters in Allen Park, Michigan.

According to the Sorinex website and Facebook page, the company has also installed weight rooms for the Patriots, Broncos and Texans.

The Lions hired Harold Nash as the team's strength and conditioning coach this offseason. He came to Detroit from the Patriots. Team president Rod Wood also told the team's website during the owner's meetings that the franchise has hired a new dietician to assist players.

Detroit's players will return to the facility for offseason workouts next month. MLive first posted the photos of the new weight room earlier Tuesday.
