Matthew Stafford is likely to become the richest player in the NFL at some point soon. And if you’re wondering what he might be splurging some of his massive new contract on, he appears to have given an answer.

A new mansion.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting the Detroit Lions quarterback bought a mansion in Atlanta for $3.85 million. The 9,838-square-foot home is listed on Zillow as having eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms (eight full, three half) along with a hot tub, pool, wet bar, theater, guest house and carriage house.

You can watch a tour of the home here. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the last owner of the home was Sreeni Prabhu.

Stafford and his wife, Kelly, began selling their townhouse in Atlanta in 2015 and spent most of this past offseason in their Michigan home as Kelly gave birth to twins, Chandler and Sawyer, keeping the family mostly in Michigan.

Don't read much into this, as far as Stafford and his future in Detroit go. Stafford and his wife have long made Atlanta their offseason home after meeting at the University of Georgia when he was the team's quarterback and she was a cheerleader. They've spent offseasons in the city throughout his NFL career and have multiple family members and friends in the area.

Stafford and the Lions open training camp for the 2017 season Sunday.
