The Rock lends a hand to Golden Tate's Pro Bowl campaign

The relationship started because of a bet, and now actor and wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is trying to assist the Detroit Lions' Golden Tate in fan voting for the Pro Bowl.

Johnson retweeted Tate's message from Thursday afternoon in which Tate offered two tickets to this year's Pro Bowl and a meet-and-greet with the receiver to "one lucky winner" if he makes the game.

The Rock and Tate first connected last month, when they decided on a bet over Twitter for the Miami-Notre Dame game -- a bet The Rock won with the Hurricanes' 41-8 victory. That resulted in Tate wearing a Johnson Miami jersey during a media availability two weeks ago. Tate also performed "The People's Elbow" -- The Rock's signature wrestling move -- as a touchdown celebration against the New Orleans Saints in October.

The Rock praised Tate's celebration then.

Tate has 71 catches for 767 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. He is on pace for his fourth straight 90-catch season and his first 1,000-yard season. He has made one Pro Bowl in his career, in 2014 as an alternate.

Tate is eighth among receivers in receptions. He is 15th in yards and leads all receivers in yards after the catch with 445 and yards after first contact with 192.
