ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have been busy reshaping the bottom of their roster this week.
On Monday, the team claimed wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin and released Reese Wiggins. Two days later, they waived Baldwin after he failed a physical. On Thursday, with a roster spot open, they signed veteran cornerback Drayton Florence.
On Friday morning, Detroit continued the roster shuffle, releasing linebacker Cory Greenwood and signing defensive back Nate Ness, who had been with the Lions in the spring.
"Just one of those things where we have to take a look, every single day we’re looking at our roster, making a determination on changes we have to make, adjustments," Lions coach Jim Caldwell said. "It’s going to be that way constantly."
