Breaking down Packers' defensive snaps

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- A look at the snap counts from the Green Bay Packers ' 34-14 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Thursday’s preseason finale:

Total defensive snaps (64)

Defensive line

Luther Robinson: 40

Carlos Gray: 33

Mike Pennel: 32

Khyri Thornton: 15

Josh Boyd: 13

Letroy Guion: 9

Notes: With Mike Daniels and Datone Jones held out, the starters were Thornton and Boyd at the ends and Guion at the nose. It was Guion's first preseason action after missing all but the last week of camp because of a hamstring injury. Boyd also is a candidate to start at nose tackle in place of B.J. Raji, who was lost for the season with a biceps injury. Thornton dropped out with a hamstring injury that, according to initial medical tests, will keep him out at least a couple of weeks. That clouds his chances to make the roster.

Carl Bradford: 51

Andy Mulumba: 44

Nate Palmer: 43

Jayrone Elliott: 43

Sam Barrington: 19

Adrian Hubbard: 14

Jake Doughty: 11

Jamari Lattimore: 9

Nick Perry: 9

Mike Neal: 9

Notes: With all the starters sitting out, Neal and Perry opened at outside linebacker while Barrington and Lattimore started at the inside spots. In perhaps a last-ditch effort to see if Bradford, a fourth-round pick, is worth keeping, he played exclusively at inside linebacker after spending all but the final week of camp at outside linebacker. He was credited with a team-high six tackles. Elliott, an undrafted rookie outside linebacker, secured his roster spot with his NFL preseason-leading fifth sack. He returned to the game after missing a series because of cramps. Palmer and Hubbard both left with knee injuries and did not return.

Jumal Rolle: 61

Ryan White: 51

Jarrett Bush: 40

Davon House: 13

Casey Hayward: 13

Notes: Rolle stated his case for a roster spot with an interception (although it was wiped out by a penalty on Mulumba), but it's also a crowded position behind starters Sam Shields and Tramon Williams. House, Hayward and Bush, who had an interception against the Chiefs, all are secure unless the Packers work a trade to find help at another spot.

Chris Banjo: 38

Tanner Miller: 29

Sean Richardson: 28

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix: 24

Micah Hyde: 13

Notes: With Morgan Burnett held out, Hyde and Clinton-Dix were the starters. Clinton-Dix, the Packers' first-round pick, showed off his ability to play the run with three solid tackles early on. Banjo might be too valuable on special teams to let walk. He played 12 snaps on the kick and punt coverage and return units.
