Packers lose area scout Lee Gissendaner to Jets

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers lost a longtime member of their scouting department shortly after the draft when Lee Gissendaner took a job with the New York Jets.

Gissendaner, who had been with the Packers since 1998, will be a national scout for the Jets. He had been an area scout for the Packers since 2001.

He was the only person in general manager Ted Thompson's personnel department to leave after the draft. Scouts' contracts typically run through the end of draft season.

It was not immediately known how -- or if -- the Packers will replace him.
