GREEN BAY, Wis. -- T.J. Lang's role in the scuffle that got Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright thrown out of Sunday night's game at Lambeau Field has apparently cost the Green Bay Packers right guard some cash.
Lang posted this on Twitter Wednesday afternoon:
$8,681. Price of defending your teammate in the NFL.— TJ Lang (@TJLang70) September 23, 2015
Lang tried to pull Wright off Packers tight end Richard Rodgers after Wright had Rodgers by the face mask as he drove him to the ground.
"I saw Richard go down, and I saw his head getting pinned back and pushed into the ground there," Lang said after the game. "I'm not just going to sit and watch it happen. I didn't think I did anything to deserve a penalty, but that's just what I do. I probably watch too much hockey."
Lang was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play.
"We always back each other up," Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. "T.J. was just going over there helping his guy out. I think there was maybe some B.S. on the other side with why that started and how that started, but take care of each other. I'm not surprised with T.J. He doesn't need a whole lot to get involved in those kinds of things, but we have each other's back."
