GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Here's a new one, even for the Green Bay Packers: A snowstorm delayed the start of the offseason program.
A blizzard that dropped more than 20 inches of snow -- the second-largest snowfall in the city's history, according to the National Weather Service -- kept some players from reporting to Lambeau Field in time for the opening workout Monday, the first day teams with returning head coaches can do anything official.
Those players with financial incentive to be there, however, won't lose out because coach Mike McCarthy delayed the official start until Tuesday, although some players will be at the facility to work out Monday. The team postponed media availability with selected players until Tuesday.
Aha yall gone run into Packer players stuck at random airports all day— Kevin King (@King_kevvoo) April 15, 2018
Several players posted on social media about their travel woes.
One such player was guard Justin McCray.
So since I'm stuck here for awhile, any Pack fans in Atlanta airport wanna grab some food?— Justin McCray (@64jdm) April 15, 2018
Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, a native of Orlando, Florida, tweeted that he wasn't coming back to Green Bay until it was 80 degrees.
Man I'm stuck in Orlando until the weather man in Wisconsin tells me it's 80 degrees and sunny 😎 ☀️ 🏝 but hit Popeyes 🍗 https://t.co/P6IBMfCb7L— Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (@haha_cd6) April 15, 2018
In that case, McCray said it might be a while before anyone sees Clinton-Dix.
😂😂 you gon be waiting a long time for that main man— Justin McCray (@64jdm) April 15, 2018
