Boys' Region Players of the Week

Each week during the 2012 season, ESPNHS Lacrosse will select a player from each of four regions as Player of the Week.

To submit a player for consideration fill out our submission form here. Please be sure to provide the player’s entire week's worth of performances. Athletes can earn Player of the Week honors just once during the 2012 regular season.

The following players are for the week of June 3-9.

The Southeast and West seasons are complete.

East

Tim Rotanz, Jr., Shoreham-Wading River (Shoreham, N.Y.), midfield

In the New York Class C championship game Rotanz elevated his game when his team needed him the most. Rotanz had five goals and two assists in the 10-6 victory against Penn Yan (N.Y.) on June 9. In addition to his game-high seven points, he also was tied for team lead with six ground balls. Rotanz was the only sophomore selected to New York Newsday’s All-Long Island team last season and with his performance this season the junior firmly established himself as one of the best players on Long Island.

Midwest

Riley Kennedy, Sr., Brother Rice (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), attack

Once again Brother Rice continued their dominance of in-state opponents and it was the Michigan-bound Kennedy who stole the show. The attackman notched four of his five goals in the second quarter and also contributed two assists in the 14-8 victory over Pioneer (Ann Arbor, Mich.) on June 9.
