Johnson thinks Texans can win division

HOUSTON -- Observed and heard in the locker room after the Houston Texans' 17-6 win over Washington.

  • Asked if the Texans could win the AFC South just one season after finishing last, receiver Andre Johnson answered in his soft-spoken manner: "Yeah, there's no doubt in my mind about it."

  • D.J. Swearinger didn't agree with the roughing the passer penalty called on him during the third quarter. I asked about the revenge of the Texans recovering a fumble on the next play, and he channeled his inner Rasheed Wallace. "The ball doesn't lie," Swearinger said.

  • Rookie running back Alfred Blue couldn't contain his grin as he walked out of the locker room. He left clutching the football he scored with after blocking a punt by Washington's Tress Way. "He kicked it into my hand," Blue said.
