Jim Irsay addresses Luck's contract situation

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - - Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was asked about quarterback Andrew Luck's contract situation after the game Sunday night.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the Colts are working on the parameters of a new deal that would make Luck the highest-paid player in the league. Luck would make around $25 million a year, according to Schefter.

“I’m not going to discuss Andrew’s contract,” Irsay said. “That’s not something that is really at the top of my mind. He just finished his third year. It’s a five-year deal, so, again, that’s not in my thought process right now.”

A new deal can’t be finalized until the new league year opens March 10.

Luck is about to enter the fourth year of his five-year deal during the 2015 season. He has a team option for 2016 that has to be optioned later this year.
