Snaps count: Cecil Shorts makes little impact

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Breaking down the Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive and defensive snaps from Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Houston Texans:

Offense (71 total snaps)

LG Zane Beadles: 71

RT Sam Young: 71

LT Luke Joeckel: 71

RG Brandon Linder: 71

C Luke Bowanko: 71

QB Blake Bortles: 71

WR Cecil Shorts: 67

TE Marcedes Lewis: 64

WR Allen Hurns: 64

RB Toby Gerhart: 22

RB Jordan Todman: 12

TE Clay Harbor: 11

FB Will Ta'ufo'ou: 10

TE Nic Jacobs: 4

WR Ace Sanders: 3

Analysis: Shorts made little impact in the passing game. He was targeted 10 times but caught just two passes for 3 yards. He had two drops, including one on a wide-open crossing pattern that would have gone for big yards. To be fair, he did have a good downfield block on Hurns' 16-yard catch-and-run. ... Hurns' 4-yard touchdown catch was his shortest of the season. His next shortest is 18 yards. ... Jacobs was used as a blocker and committed a holding penalty on J.J. Watt when he was asked to handle Watt one-on-one. ... After catching 25 passes in his first six games this season, Harbor has just one catch in the last four games.

The drive ended with Randy Bullock's 44-yard field goal to give Houston a 27-13 lead. … Telvin Smith continues to be around the ball. He had two tackles for loss and a pass breakup. … Hood tied his season high with three tackles. … Chris Smith has played sparingly in only five games this season but has 2.0 sacks.
